Seeking proposals for workshops for library communications and outreach conference in Washington, D.C.

The Library Management Institute, in partnership with the newly established American Association of Library Communications and Outreach Professionals (AALCOP), is seeking workshop proposals from interested presenters for the inaugural conference scheduled for Monday October 10, 2011 in Washington, D.C. This conference will focus exclusively on the current issues in library public relations, marketing, and outreach and will be attended by men and women responsible for managing the communications function in public, academic, and special libraries throughout the United States. We invite your proposals for 75 minute sessions on any topic related to library communications and outreach including the following areas: 
·        public relations
·        event planning
·        marketing and promotion
·        crisis management
·        advocacy
·        programming
·        internal publications
·        external publications
·        media relations
·        web design

The deadline to submit a proposal for consideration is Monday August 15th at 5:00 pm ET. The proposal should include the name of the presenter(s), the title of the workshop, a brief description of the workshop, and a short bio of the presenter(s). All workshop presenters attend the conference at no cost including all meal functions.
