The Teaching, Learning, and Technology committee of the Library Instruction Roundtable seeks presentation proposals for a free Spring webinar on using technology to teach the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy titled, “Ready to Roll: Incorporating the Framework into Online Instruction,” to be held on Friday, May 20th at 1pm CST/2pm EST.
We are looking for innovative proposals that demonstrate real-world, practical, hands-on approaches to teaching online using the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy. Our goal is for attendees with leave with ideas for teaching methods that are adaptable to their online environments.
This program is scheduled for one hour, and presentations are 20 minutes long. We will be accepting 2 presentations, with 5 minutes for questions after each presentation and 10 minutes of general Q&A to follow using Adobe Connect. Following this presentation, attendees will have the option to be enrolled in an asynchronous conversation via Slack to share and review ideas inspired by the panelists in a supportive environment.
Proposals are due by Friday, March 18th 2016, and should include the following elements (please fill out the form):http://bit.ly/1WSwGad
· Title
· Brief Description (100 words)
o 2-3 learning objectives: What will participants gain after this session?
· Strategies to actively engage attendees beyond polls or chat discussion
· Presenter bio and experience (100 words--please emphasize experience with the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy and experience presenting in a virtual environment)
The registration link to attend the webinar will be shared on the LIRT listserv in April. Not a Library Instruction Round Table member? Make the change to add LIRT to your ALA membership via the ALA Website: http://www.ala.org/membership/ joinala
