Libraries are places where community members gather to explore, interact and grow! They connect communities like no other institution and are leveraging collections to strengthen their communities. Data shows that assessing your community can help your library build a better collection, and that assessing your collection can help you connect to your community.
This conference will highlight some of the work in which libraries are engaged in connecting their collections and their communities.
Possible presentations could be on floating collections, focus groups to find out the ideal community and how the local library can build that community, establishing popular fiction collections in academic libraries, and more. Libraries continue to prove themselves increasingly creative in developing programs that connect their communities to their collections, and we would love to feature your library’s unique story. In this online conference, we intend to offer experiences from a wide array of libraries, including public, academic and special libraries.
We're looking for presenters to share their experiences. If you are interested in presenting, complete and submit our Call for Proposals form by . If you know of others who may be interested, feel free to pass this information along to them.
If you've never presented online before, don't worry; it's easy. We will be happy to help you prepare your session and provide you plenty of experienced technical support during your presentation. Online conference sessions will run 45 minutes each throughout the day.
