Just a reminder about our call for program and forum proposals for the Annual Innovative Users Group 2010 Conference to be held in Chicago, Illinois from Sunday, April 18th through Wednesday, April 21, 2010. The deadline to submit program proposals is Friday, November 13, 2009; only 17 days away!
To submit a program and/or forum proposal, go to the Conference webpage listed below. When prompted, login with your own personal MyIUG login; do not use your institutional credentials. If you don't already have one, go to http://www.innovativeusers.org/sitemember-register-form

If you would like to present a program or forum (or two), but do not know what might be of interest to colleagues from other Innovative libraries, take a look at the Suggested Topics Page that has been compiled over the past few years; included in this list are a multitude of responses submitted to the IUG 2009 Conference survey in Anaheim, CA.
We aim for a variety of programs: basic to advanced, every library type, how you use various Innovative modules, and how you use other programs in conjunction with Innovative software. The topics list is not meant to be exhaustive. Some topics have been duplicated (as appropriate) under separate categories for your convenience. If you have an idea of your own and don't see it listed, please submit a proposal anyway; you just may find that you have the experience and ideas to share!
You may also be interested in coordinating a panel discussion, but don't have all of the presenters lined up. It's perfectly fine to have some TBA's at this stage. The Program Committee can work with you to help identify potential co-presenters.
If you have presented or coordinated at past IUG programs, please consider resubmitting a proposal for this year. Many comments from recent IUG conferences attest to the fact that it is impossible to attend every program that our users would like to hear; having another chance to see popular programs is always appreciated.
There are also a large number of regional user group meetings taking place this fall that offer an excellent variety of programs. If you are presenting in one of these regional conferences, please consider repeating your program at the annual meeting, so many more colleagues can learn from your experiences.

Are you attending ALA Midwinter in Boston? Each year at ALA Midwinter IUG holds an afternoon meeting for IUG members. Our next meeting is January 15, 2010, 2-5pm in Boston, MA.
I am still looking for two more presenters. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to present at this meeting. We're a friendly crowd.

On behalf of the IUG 2010 Program Committee, I am very pleased to announce the availability of the Program Proposal Form for the Annual Innovative Users Group 2010 Conference to be held in Chicago, Illinois from Sunday, April 18th through Wednesday, April 21, 2010. The Eastern Great Lakes Innovative Users Group invites you to present your ideas, experiences and views on the various modules of the Innovative Interfaces system at our annual fall meeting being held Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Akron-Summit County Public Library in Akron, OH.
* Presentations for all levels of experience across all modules and Innovative products are welcomed
* Proposals may take the form of programs, panel discussions, forums, demonstrations, and hands-on instruction
* Have an idea, but don't think you could devote a full 45 minutes to it? Submit a proposal for a 15-minute program
* New for 2009, hands-on instruction sessions (limit of 15 attendees per session) are welcomed
* Birds of a Feather” (BoF) sessions, which take the form of informal discussions on a particular topic, module or issue(s) may also be proposed

The Northwest Innovative Users Group is currently accepting proposals for one hour (60 minute) program presentations at the Fifteenth Annual NWIUG Users Group meeting on Thursday, September 10 and Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. This is your chance to share III expertise/issues with your colleagues, and, for those of you from out-of-town, a chance to enjoy both the beautiful Chemeketa Community College campus and Salem's historic sites.
The conference will be structured as it has been in past years - concurrent presentations within each program session.
Your ideas on programs you would like to see presented are also welcome.
Just e-mail these ideas to: nwiugsteers@googlegroups.com with a description of what you would like covered.

The Mid-Atlantic Innovative Users Group (MAIUG) invites you to submit a proposal for a presentation, panel discussion, or roundtable discussion at our annual conference being held in Salem, VA. We are seeking a variety of programs that address areas of interest to colleagues at
other Innovative libraries.
Sessions can be 1-1.5 hours long including time for questions and answers.
Please forward a detailed description of the program including format and technology needs to Karen Pifher, kpifher@sclsnj.org, MAIUG Program Chair or Elsa Atson , elsaa@chemheritage.org , MAIUG Chair by
Friday, August 22, 2008. Notification of decisions will be made by August 29, 2008.

Eastern Great Lakes-Innovative Users Group invites you to present your ideas, experiences and views on the various modules of the Innovative Interfaces system at our annual fall meeting, Friday, September 19, 2008 at The Conference Center at OCLC in Dublin, Ohio.
* All levels, including basic or demonstration programs, which will be highlighted for the first time at EGL, are encouraged and welcomed.
* Sessions may take the form of presentations or panel discussions (45 minutes in length), or demonstrations (20 minutes in length).
* Birds of a feather (BOF) sessions may take the form of discussions on a particular topic, module or issue(s).

May 15-17, 2007 (Pre-conference – May 14th)
Poster Sessions Non-Compete Time, Tuesday May 15th, 2007, 11-12noon after the
opening session.
The IUG 2007 Program Committee is happy to announce a Call for Posters for the upcoming meeting in San Jose, May 14th – 17th, 2007.
The IUG 2007 Program Committee seeks IUG members to prepare a poster sessions for a project, resource, workflow, tutorial, practice (well, just about anything), that will illustrate effective or creative ways that we have used the Innovative System. There will be non-compete time for poster sessions immediately following the opening session and the poster should remain up through the rest of the conference (although you will not be required to stand by the poster after the non-compete time). During the initial period, it is hoped that you would be able to stand by your poster and provide brief summaries of your project as people visit.
If you would like to prepare a poster for IUG 2007, please use this web form to submit your entry:

This will be reviewed by the Program Committee and we will be contacting you by March 9th about having the poster included in the conference.
Please fill out the above web form with your poster session information. Also, given the tight schedule, we will be using the submitted information for the printed program. You can also submit up to five additional people who worked on the project with you.
Information on the poster sessions will be posted soon. The most important thing to remember is that the boards that we are using for posters will provide you with a 4' x 8' space, but does not include a table this year.
