CFP: NFAIS Artificial Intelligence Conference (May 2019 - Alexandria, Virginia)

NFAIS Announces Call for Presenters: Artificial Intelligence Conference

Interested in presenting at this event? Our call for presentations is open until April 1, 2019 at http://www.nfais.org/call-for-presenters

While a great deal of intelligent technology has already been developed and deployed in the scholarly publishing industry, the key to its success will be in synthesizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology with massive data, tools, varying business models and the underpinning frameworks that are beginning to change the way we seek out, discover, interact with and benefit from scholarship.

For publishers, AI provides easier and faster efficiencies in workflow-from detecting plagiarism to peer review. Government agencies and private funders are relying on it to ensure not only that the research be made available, but that the researchers fulfill grant requirements in following reputable standards, preserving integrity and objectives of a trusted process. For academic search engines, AI is providing a better search experience coupled with valuable insights and connections. And for researchers and the institutions that support them, AI has been pivotal in engineering tools that-through automation-support scholars and researchers in new ways of carrying out experiments and interpreting results.

NFAIS will explore the application and implication of AI across all sectors of scholarship at our Artificial Intelligence: Finding Its Place in Research, Discovery and Scholarly Publishing conference, on May 15 - 16, 2019 in Old Town Alexandria, VA, and we invite you join the discussion as a speaker! NFAIS provides stakeholders with a forum for insightful discussion and open dialogue about potential paths forward.

NFAIS is looking for visionary, inspiring and future-focused presenters who can elevate discussions on AI, debate and provide practical ideas and solutions as we consider data strategy, changing infrastructure, and the use of innovative researcher-driven tools and services. You may be selected to present alone, with a co-presenter, or as a panel.
