Call for Posters: Library Publishing Forum (March 5-6, Kansas City, MO)

The 2014 Library Publishing Forum (March 5-6 in Kansas City) is seeking proposals for posters that showcase alignment activities in the library publishing community.

The Library Publishing Forum is hosted by the Library Publishing Coalition, an organization with 60-member libraries that promotes the development of innovative, sustainable publishing services in academic and research libraries to support scholars as they create, advance, and disseminate knowledge.

This event will bring together representatives from libraries and their collaborative partners to define and address major questions and challenges, to identify and document collaborative opportunities, to strengthen and promote this community of practice, and to advance this vibrant subfield of academic publishing.

The Program Subcommittee is requesting proposals for posters that showcase how libraries, presses, and other participants in the scholarly communications sector are aligning their publishing activities with the goals, needs, and practices of their stakeholders and peers.

A dedicated poster session and reception will be held from 6 - 8pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, providing participants with a chance to share their work and engage with their colleagues.

Proposals: Colleagues interested in presenting a poster are invited to submit a 200 word abstract in PDF describing the poster content. Original as well as previously presented posters from other conferences are welcome. Please include your affiliation and email contact information. Conditions: Presenter must (1) accompany their posters to the conference (2) have them on display by 12:30 pm, Wednesday, March 5, and (3) leave them on display until 12:30 pm, Thursday, March 6.

Review: The LPC Program Subcommittee will review and accept poster abstracts based on their connection to the conference theme, clarity of description, interesting or inspiring ideas, and proposed visual appeal.

Acceptance Notification: February 7, 2013
