The Journal of Academic Librarianship is seeking column contributions for the upcoming volume year. Topic proposals should be submitted to Bethany Latham (blatham@jsu.edu) as soon as possible, with finished manuscript deadlines negotiable based on slated issue. The columns’ scope is broad; previous columns have featured thought/opinion pieces, survey pieces revolving around a particular issue/trend, as well as essays on approaches to addressing specific challenges related to academic librarianship. Former column categories have included managing technology, assessment, and the politics of libraries, but potential contributors are encouraged to present any topic of relevance to academic librarianship.
Word count is approximately 1800-2200, and examples of previous columns can be found in JAL issues:
• JAL 44.4 (2018) 541-543.
• JAL 44.2 (2018): 313-318.
• JAL 43.6 (2017): 548-549.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Regards,
Bethany Latham
