Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) Midwest Chapter
Theme: Collaboration and Innovation in Library Practices
Date: April 21, 2017 (Friday), 9:00 am-4:45 pm CST
Format of Conference: Hybrid
Physical Location: Chicago Public Library Chinatown Branch (2100 S. Wentworth Avenue, Chicago IL 60616)
Virtual Location: URL for accessing the teleconference will be provided in early April.
Call for Proposals:
Collaboration and innovation permeate everyday practice of library professionals. In the changing context of technology and service, collaborative innovation and innovative collaboration together form an environment that is conducive to problem-solving and better facilitates the visioning of the future of libraries and librarianship. How do you embrace new methods/tools in reference service and instructions? How do you create plans for adapting technical service procedures to your local institution? How do you work with your colleagues to improve a workflow? How do you implement a new idea of community outreach? How do you partner with faculty/students in developing new projects? How do you initiate or move forward a digital project? How do you apply any creative approach during your career development? As a library school student, how do you prepare yourself to be a library professional by doing something collaboratively with your mentors? This conference will provide a great venue for not only sharing your experiences and reflections, but also proposing new models of collaboration and innovation.
If you would like to submit a proposal for the CALA Midwest annual conference, please fill out the online proposal form at:
