CFP: The Communication Review
The Communication Review seeks a synthesis of concerns traditional to the fields of communication and media studies. The journal seeks works that contribute to new knowledge across conventional disciplinary boundaries: -Communication and Culture, probing the questions of producing meaning and interpretation by way of analyzing culture through the visual and dramatic arts, literature, sociology, anthropology, and in the interdisciplinary tradition of cultural studies.
-Communication as a Social Force, focusing on the historical development and contemporary transformation of media and communication,telecommunications, and information systems, emphasizing their political-economic, technological, and institutional dynamics.
-Communication and Mind, examining the individual socially constituted through language and other media in their cultural, social, and economic contexts.
The editors view these as different theoretical perspectives on the study of communication processes. They particularly encourage historical work, feminist work, and visual work, and invite submissions from those employing critical theoretical and empirical approaches to a range of topics under the general rubric of communication and media studies research.
The Communication Review also functions as a review of current work in the field. Towards this end, the editors are always open to proposals for special issues that interrogate and examine current controversies in the field. We also welcome non-traditionally constructed articles which critically examine and review current sub-fields of and controversies within communication and media studies; we offer an expedited review process for timely statements. In addition, we welcome book reviews and extended review essays.

We invite you to submit a paper/abstract to the The 2nd International Conference on Knowledge Generation, Communication and Management: KGCM 2008 (http://www.sciiis.org/KGCM2008); which will be held jointly with The 3rd International Symposium on Knowledge Communication and Peer Reviewing: KCPR 2008, and The 3rd International Symposium on Knowledge Communication and Conferences: KCC 2008. It will take place in Orlando, Florida, USA, on June 29th to July 2nd, 2008.
The deadlines are the following:
Submissions: February 7th, 2008
Acceptance: March 3rd, 2008
Camera-ready: March 26th, 2008
Submitted papers or extended abstracts will have three kinds of reviews: double-blind (by at least three reviewers), non-blind, and participative peer-to-peer reviews.
Authors of accepted papers who registered in the conference can have access to the reviews made to their submission so they can accordingly improve the final version of their papers. Non-registered authors may not have access to the reviews of their respective submissions.
Awards will be granted to the best paper of those presented at each session. From these session's best papers, the best 10%-20% of the papers presented at the conference will be selected for their publication in Volume 6 of JSCI Journal (www.iiisci.org/Journal/SCI) and sent free to over 220 research libraries. Libraries of journal author's organizations will receive complimentary subscriptions of at least one volume (6 issues).
Also, we would like to invite you to organize an invited session related to a topic of your research interest. If you are interested in organizing an invited session, please, fill out the respective form provided in the conference web page. We will send you a password, so you can include and modify papers in your invited session.
More details about the reviewing process, the acceptance policy, organizing invited sessions, and submission deadlines can be found at our web site.
If the deadlines are tight and you need more time, let us know about a suitable time for you and I will inform you if it is feasible for us.

Through the application of new technologies, the postal service and transportation industries have encouraged mutual growth and development. The Postal History Symposium provides a forum in which philatelists, academic scholars, public historians and the public discuss and present research integrating philately and postal history in the broader context of American history.
The conference will open Sunday evening October 21, with a reception and plenary panel titled Further, Farther, Faster: Transporting the Mail. Fifteen miles from State College, Pennsylvania, the American Philatelic Center is home to the 43,000-member American Philatelic Society and the American Philatelic Research Library.
Proposals for symposium papers may be submitted either as individual papers or in panels. Papers outside the transportation theme will be considered. Posters should emphasize using visual elements to tell a story, and will be displayed throughout the conference. Deadline for proposals is June 1, 2007.
One-page proposals for papers and posters should be accompanied by a one-page curriculum vita with contact information (e-mail, phone, and address). For possible themes and technical specifications, please visit http://www.stamps.org/news/P1525.htm
